• CM Arvind Kejriwal assures gym associations of full support in the future

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met with the gym associations of Delhi and assured them of full support in bringing their businesses and the economy of Delhi back on track. The representatives of the gym associations of Delhi thanked CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal for opening the gyms and yoga centres in Delhi. The CM appealed to the gym and yoga centre owners as well as the general public to follow the safety protocol at the gym centres, to minimize the risk of spreading of COVID-19 infection.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office tweeted, “The representatives of Gym Associations of Delhi met Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal today and thanked him for opening gyms in Delhi. The Hon’ble Chief Minister also assured the gym owners of full support in the future.”

Taking to social media, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “I appeal to all gym operators and the public in Delhi to follow the safety protocols at gym centers. We have to stop the spread of corona infection along with staying healthy.”

The meeting came after the DDMA said the gyms and yoga centres will be allowed to open outside the containment zones in Delhi. The order was issued on September 13, and various safety measures such as thermal screening, limited entry, and regular sanitization of the gym areas are being followed to ensure safety inside the gyms.

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the gym owners that they should ensure all the SOPs that have been issued by the central government are properly followed. He said that the public who come to these gym centres should also follow all safety standards and protocols to cease the spread of Corona infection. He said, “The Delhi government has started opening Delhi as and when the Unlock orders of the Central government were issued, and the economic activities also began in Delhi as and when the unlock orders were implemented on the directions of the central government. It took some time to get the permit for the openings of gyms, but we continued raising the issue in the DDMA meetings. I am glad that we were able to convince the Hon’ble LG, because, at a time when the immunity of the people matters the most, the opening of yoga and gym centres was very important so that people stay healthy and immune. LG had some concerns, but we assured him that all the Central government SOPs will be followed in the opening of gyms. I want to appeal to the gym owners as well as the public to follow all safety protocols while visiting the gyms. I assure them of full support on behalf of the Delhi government.”
