BOOTLEGGER APPREHENDED BY PCR PRAKHAR MOBILE PATROL VAN STAFF. TOTAL 1734 QUARTERS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR RECOVERED, 02 CARS USED IN CRIME ALSO SEIZED IN TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS.

On 17.10.2020 at about 06:15 AM, the PCR Prakhar Mobile Patrol Vans staff comprising HC Chander Bhan and Ct. (Dvr.) Anil Kumar was patrolling on Jonti-Kanjhawla Road, Delhi. They noticed a Santro car bearing registration No. DL 8CN-5818 driven in suspicious manner. The staff signalled it to stop but the driver of the car accelerated his speed and fled towards Kanjhawla, Delhi. The MPV staff showed presence of mind, courage and displaying professionalism chased the suspected car and also contacted through mobile phone with nearby MPVs for assistance. On receipt of call for assistance, another PCR MPV of the zone comprising ASI Umed Singh and Ct.(Dvr.) Rajkumar rushed for their help and gave cover from front side. After an intense chase, the PCR staff intercepted the car near Radha Swami Satsang, Kanjhawla Road, Delhi and succeeded in apprehending the accused person. On search of the said car, 23 boxes containing 1134 quarters of illicit liquor were recovered. Apprehended person was identified as Sumer (aged 22 yrs.) S/o Bhawani Singh r/o Village Akbarpur Barotha, District Sonepat, Haryana. A self call was made. Local police of P.S Kanjhawla arrived at the spot. Apprehended person alongwith recovered illicit liquor with car was handed to them. A case vide FIR No.381/20 dated 17.10.2020 u/s 33/38/58 Delhi Excise Act PS Kanjhawla was registered on the statement of incharge Prakhar MPV.

In the second incident, on 16.10.2020 at about 10.13 AM, the PCR ‘Prakhar’ Mobile Patrol Van staff comprising HC Anil Kumar and Ct. (Dvr.) Shakti was patrolling on Kanjhawla Road near Laadpur Village, Delhi. They noticed a Silver colour Wagon R car bearing No. DL 8CK-5767 driven in suspicious manner. However, when the driver noticed the presence of PCR MPV, he further accelerated the speed of car. This created doubt in the mind of MPV staff. The MPV staff showed presence of mind, courage and displaying professionalism chased the suspected car and also contacted through mobile phone with nearby MPVs for assistance. On receipt of call for assistance, another ‘Prakhar’ PCR MPV of the zone comprising HC Krishan and Ct. (Dvr.) Satywan rushed for their help and gave cover from front side. An intense chase ensued and on finding himself cornered, the driver abandoned the car at Nizampur Road and managed to escape. The car was taken into possession. On search of the said car 12 boxes containing 600 quarters of country made illicit liquor were recovered. A self call was made by the staff. Local police of P.S Kanjhawla arrived at the spot. Recovered car alongwith illicit liquor was handed over to local police of PS Kanjhawla. A case vide FIR No. 379/20 U/S 33/38/58 Delhi Excise Act P.S. Kanjhawla was registered on the statement of incharge Prakhar MPV.
The PCR staff has displayed alertness, keen sense of observation, devotion to duty and professionalism by apprehending a bootlegger and recovering 1734 quarters of illicit liquor in two separate incidents across Delhi.
